Horizon has a new fuel cell toy car on the market with the Hydrocar.

The hydrogen powered car uses an on-board reversible Polymer Electrolyte Membrane (PEM) fuel cell to conduct the entire hydrogen-generating and electrolytic process. You can watch as oxygen and hydrogen gases are formed in two transparent containers in the back of the hydrogen vehicle. The car's fuel cell unit combines water electrolysis and fuel cell functions into one device.
The Hydrocar's reversible fuel cell uses distilled water and an electrical charge from the included solar panel to perform a 10 minute electrolytic process. Hydrogen and oxygen atoms are extracted from the water and stored in separate tanks at the rear of the car. The hydrogen is slowly released to the PEM fuel cell where it reacts with oxygen to generate electricity that propels the car's motor and illuminates the blue LED lights.

The toy car steers independently of the user once it hits a barrier, and cool blue LED lights flash from inside the cockpit.

Hammacher sells the Hydrogen Generating Car for $99.95.

Horizon introduced their first hydrogen fuel cell toy car in 2006 with the H-Racer. It is still available and sells via Amazon.com for $94.50.
