A Research Group in Japan set the speed record in wireless data transfer with 320 mbps.
The technology is compatible with UWB (ultra wide band) standards. UWB standards are supposed to be the next generation in high-speed wireless communications among TVs, DVD players, PCs and other electronic devices.
