Rumors were running rampant this week when Sega update its trademark on its old school Dreamcast console name. Many thought this was a sure sign that Sega was getting a Dreamcast 2 ready to battle the other console giants.
The trademark covers a wide gamut of products from controllers to the game console itself. It would make more sense to me for Sega to be getting a new line of gaming controllers ready for other manufacturers console gaming systems.
According to GameDaily, Sega has issued a denial saying it does not intend to get back into the console business and wants to focus on platform agnostic software. That isn’t saying we won’t see controllers and such branded with the Dreamcast name though.
