Japanese Oki Digital Imaging Corp. is working on new display technologies based on epi film bonding (EFB) that can be used to create a Fingertip-sized LED Projector.

EFB is a process that forms a thin film from a semiconductor material and bonding the film to another material through the intermolecular force.

The current development versions only have red LED components so far. The amazing aspect is that Oki managed to reduce the size to 20μm square and an arrangement pitch also narrowed from 600 to 42.3μm of the light emitting diodes.
