Last week Nintendo and Gamestop announced a raincheck program for Wii consoles. Kotaku got the details on how you can get a Wii console in January for $250 at Gamestop.
Only on December 21st you can go to a Gamestop or EB Games store and pay $250 for a Wii that you can pick up on January 25th.
Only one Wii console per household can be ordered and you have to show up in person.
You apparently get an empty game case with Crappy Wiiless Holidays wishes printed on it.
More details on Kotaku.
It is quite striking how different the Wii supply issue is in different countries. The Wii console is in stock on Amazon Germany for slightly below MSRP. It is a pity that the dollar is so weak.
You can still find over-priced Wii consoles on Amazon.com and on eBay.
