Acer Introduces Budget Extensa Business Notebooks

Acer announced a new line of notebook computers today called Extensa. The Extensa 4620 notebook is now available in North America and is aimed at business users. The Extensa uses the same chassis as the TravelMate notebooks.
The screen size is 14.1-inches and the system runs on Windows XP Pro, but is Vista capable. Available processors include Intel Centrino duo or Pentium dual-core components and hard drive capacities of up to 120GB are available.
The optical drive is an integrated Super-Multi unit and power comes from a six-cell lithium-ion battery. Two versions of the Extensa will be offered with the 4620-6294 running a Core 2 Duo T5450, 1GB of RAM, 120GB HDD, and built-in WLAN. The 4620-4054 runs a Pentium dual-core T2310, 1GB of RAM, 120GB HDD, and integrated WLAN. Pricing for the 4620-6294 starts at $799 and the 4620-4054 starts at $699.
