There will be no shortage of MP3 players at CES 2008. The cheapest player may well be the new reference design being unveiled by CSR featuring integrated stereo Bluetooth technology. CSR says the bill of materials for the reference design is under $10.
That will open the world of wireless music up to a whole new price category. The reference design is called the BlueCore player and includes all circuit diagrams and other required materials.
The form factor of the design is small at 45mm x 60mm and it supports AVRCP to control tracks via Bluetooth. An OLED display is used and the player can support Asian and Arabic fonts as well as English. Battery life is said to be 14-hours.
