Sling Media announces Slingbox PRO-HD at the CES 2008.
The Slingbox PRO-HD includes multiple inputs and outputs, including digital audio and a digital (ATSC/QAM) tuner.
The Slingbox PRO-HD streams up to 1080i video content and 5.1 surround within the home to a computer, it can also be used to ship HD material to another HDTV via the forthcoming SlingCatcher.
With super highspeed broadband connectivity, such as Verizon FiOS, you will get similar HD quality streaming to remote locations. Slingbox PRO-HD is slated for a Q3 release and a price of $399.99.
Q3 is a pretty far out target, you might as well just forget about this product again until fall 2008. We will remind you then.
Sling Media also announces the SlingPlayer Mobile for BlackBerry phones. Similar to our Windows Mobile, Palm OS, and Symbian clients - SlingPlayer Mobile allows Slingbox owners to watch their placeshifted home television on a smartphone utilizing a 3G cellular or WiFi data connection. SlingPlayer Mobile for BlackBerry will be available later this year for $29.99.
CES 2008 will start on January 7th, but the new product announcements are already pouring in.
