Alienware made a splash at the CES 2008 showing a curved back projection display for a more immersive game-play.
Hardcore gamers already have two or even three monitors placed on their desks. The Alienware curved display addresses that setup with a single monitor.
I was waiting to see an official press-release about this new monitor from Alienware, but as it looks Alienware is not quite ready with the product yet.
Engadget got some details that reveal that the curved DLP monitor shown at the Alienware booth is a late engineering prototype.
The curved display contains actually four LED-backlit DLP projectors inside and was developed by Ostendo Technologies (an OEM developer) but will be sold under the Alienware brand. No pricing information has been revealed. It will be expensive considering there are four projectors inside and the calculations necessary to make the image a seamless experience.
