The CES 2008 is almost over and the electronics manufacturers dazzled us with lots new World's biggest, World's thinnest, World's smallest, and so on gadgets.
I took a moment and put together the most interesting new world records in the gadget world that have been set at the CES 2008.
The World's largest Plasma TV
Panasonic showed with the 150 inch Plasma HDTV the world's largest, until they beat themselves again. More details.
The World's thinnest 50 inch flat panel Display
Pioneer showed a 9mm thin 50 inch flat panel display. It is still in concept stage but it shows where flat panel TVs are going. More details.
The World's largest LCD TV
Sharp showed with a 108 inch LCD TV the world's largest. The Sharp 108-inch LCD has Full HD 1080p resolution and measures 93.9-inches (W) by 52.9-inches (H) in size. More Details.
The World's thinnest LCD TV
JVC’s new slim LCD TVs feature a cabinet that across most of its width measures a mere 1.5 inches (39mm) deep, with a maximum depth of just 2.9-inches (74mm) at the panel’s center. JVC's thin LCD TVs have the tuner integrated, unlike the ultra-thin Hitachi LCD TVs. More Details.
The World's largest OLED TV
Samsung showed a 31 inch OLED TV that is supposed to hit shelves in 2010. More details.
The World's fastest Burst Shooting performance
Casio introduces at the CES 2008 the Casio EXILIM Pro EX-F1, which has the world's fastest burst shooting performance. The Casio EXILIM Pro EX-F1 features an ultra-high speed 60 frames per second (fps) burst rate for still images, together with 1,200 fps high speed movie recording that captures movement faster than the eye can see for ultra-slow motion replay. The World’s smallest Hard Drive Camcorders
The new slimmer Everio digital camcorder are apparently the world’s smallest hard drive camcorders. The new JVC Everio camcorders include five new ones in the Everio G lineup: GZ-MG330, GZ-MG335, GZ-MG360, GZ-MG365, and GZ-MG730. More Details.
The World's smallest handheld PC
Tsinghua Tongfang (THTF) calls the M1 the world's smallest handheld PC. Measurements of the LimePC M1 are 110 x 58 x 15.9mm and the weight is 130g. More Details.
The World's thinnest 10.1MP Camera
Casio announced at the CES 2008 with the EXILIM EX-S10 the world's smallest and thinnest 10.1 megapixel camera. The EX-S10 is 0.59" (15mm) thin (0.54" (13.7mm) at the thinnest part). More Details.
The World's first 1TB Notebook
The new Asus M70 delivers up to 1TB of storage capacity in a two-drive configuration. More Details.
World's smallest SSD
Intel showed the world's smallest Solid State Disk (SSD). The Intel Z-140 PATA SSD is smaller than a penny and lighter than a drop of water. More Details.
