Nokia announced today that its Nokia N95 8GB phone is the first mobile handset ever to receive the Digital Living Network Alliance certification (DLNA). The DNLA is a regulating body that advocates interoperability of wireless devices and wired devices.
The Nokia N95 has been certified by the DLNA as a Mobile Digital Media Server. "We are thrilled to receive this tribute from the DLNA. The Nokia N95 8GB is truly a masterpiece of a multimedia computer, and a prime example of the direction mobility is taking - it's personal, powerful and fits seamlessly into your life inside and outside the home," said Anssi Vanjoki, executive vice president, Markets, Nokia.
Over 1800 products have been certified in the personal and consumer electronics category, but the N95 8GB is the first mobile handset to be certified. Combine the N98 with other DNLA certified devices to wirelessly connect and stream media to and from home theater devices without fear of compatibility issues.
