At Carnegie Mellon, Greg Armstrong, senior research technician at the School of Computer Science, demonstrates a robot named Pearl. The robot is designed to help older people with various tasks.

The abilities of Pearl are fairly limited. But the $100,000 robot already took some user tests with elderly to guide them around a store.
