Marshal Electronics announced today a new microphone in its USB MXL line. The new mic is called the MXL USB.009 and is the world’s first 24-bit, 96 kHz studio microphone. Marshall Electronics says that the USB.009 is like having a studio in a mic.
Both Windows and Mac users can use the mic which features a 32mm pressure gradient condenser capsule with a gold sputtered diaphragm. Other features include 24-bit A/D and D/A convertors, 96kHz recording capability and a dynamic range of 114dB.
The mic also features a mix control for adjusting the balance between playback and direct source signal. A blue LED light glows behind the mic grill to show when the mic is active and ready to record. Accessories included with the mic are a mic stand, mounting clip, flight case, cleaning cloth and a USB cable. The MSRP of the USB.009 is $399.99.
