Asus launches the Asus Eee PC in Japan. For some reason Asus is only offering the Windows XP version of the Asus Eee PC.
Japan is the first market where Asus is rolling out the Windows XP Eee. The first customers today also received a WL-330g Wi-fi access point for free when they bought a Eee PC 4G-X at major Japanese retailer Bic Camera. The price for the XP Eee is 50,000 Yen (~$464).
Japanese technology news site Impress (Japanese) published a review of the Windows XP Asus Eee PC.
Their verdict is that Windows XP works good on the Eee PC, but that Asus already announced a new generation of the Eee at the CES, and it might be worth waiting for it.
