Everex announced at the CES 2008 that the CloudBook Linux UMPC would launch on January 25th. ComputerWorld now reports that they were informed by Everex that the CloudBook has been delayed at least one month.
Apparently there are last minute software tweaks necessary on the gOS Ubuntu based Linux operating system.
The Everex site still states the January 25th release date. Everex is handling the delay in a strange way. Somehow it seems they just talked to ComputerWorld to spread the word instead of issuing a press-release or posting a statement on their site.
So all Cloudbook fans would need to be avid CW readers to learn that they will have to wait another month to get their hands on it. Wal-mart was smart enough to not list the Cloudbook yet. ZaReason still takes pre-orders and informs that the delivery date for the Cloudbook is mid to late February.
In the meantime you can buy the Asus Eee PC in serveral flavors. The install base of over 350,000 is starting to become an advantage for the Eee PC.
