The Megapixel Mobile Phone Video Camera (MMPVC) Reference Design from Atsana provides OEMs with a ready-tomarket, production-ready design that provides add-on megapixel still image and video camera functionality to mobile phone handsets.
The MMPVC is a small, low-power module combining the programmable highperformance and high-quality video compression capabilities of the Atsana J2210 Media Processor with the flexible, superior quality image capture capabilities of the Omnivision OV9620 1.3 Megapixel Camera- Chip.
The MMPVC connects to mobile phone handset UART serial ports to output high-quality, highly compressed MPEG-4 video and megapixel JPEG still images.
This module enables real-time video conferencing on 3G phones hopefully in the near future.
