Today JVC unveiled a pair of new HD Everio HDD camcorders that record in full 1080p HD format. The GZ-HD6 and GZ-HD5 are 45% smaller than previous JVC HD camcorders like the GZ-HD7 without giving up quality.
Both camcorders use a FUJINON HD lens and a progressive scan 3CCD imaging system. The JVC Gigabrid processing engine delivers the full HD recording capability. Both cameras output video at 1080p 60 fps via HDMI 1.3 with x.v. Color.
Recording capacity for the GZ-HD6 is a full 10 hours in HD thanks to the 120GB HDD. The HD5 can record for five hours to its 60GB HDD in full 1080p resolution. Both camcorders come with Windows software for burning the recorded footage to DVD. The HD6 will retail for $1399.99 and the HD5 will retail for $1199.99.
