GPS gadget company Garmin enters the mobile phone business with the nuvifone.

The Garmin nuvifone is an all-in-one, sleek and slim, touchscreen smartphone that combines a premium phone, mobile web-browser, and GPS personal navigator. Other features of the Garmin nuvifone include 3.5G connectivity, 3.5 inch touchscreen, built-in video camera and MP3 and MPEG4/AAC media player.

The Garmin nuvifone comes preloaded with maps of North America, Eastern, and Western Europe.

Garmin anticipates that the nüvifone will be available in the third quarter of 2008. Specific details about pricing and sales partners will be announced in the future.
