Corgi International unveiled its fuel cell powered RC car at the Nuremberg Toy Fair. The car is called the H2GO and is powered by a hydrogen fuel cell using solar power and water for power to play with the car.
Corgi says this is the first of a new line of toys to be powered by clean renewable energy. The H2GO car is made with parts from a partnership Corgi has with fuel cell maker Horizon Fuel Cell Technologies.
Mark Cookson, Corgi International CEO said, “Today marks a new chapter in the global toy market. The H2GO is not only a fascinating miniature-scale, real-working fuel cell powered RC toy that can be refueled using plain water, but marks a change in how the toy industry will need to transform and adapt to a clean energy future. I am delighted that together Corgi International and Horizon, can launch a product like the H2GO that offers not only great entertainment and playability but also has fantastic educational value. Discovering fuel cell technology and being able to fill the car's refueling station just with water is an important part of the play experience."
