Kingston announced a new flash drive that also acts as a microSD card reader perfect for transferring music and images from your PC to your PMP or mobile phone. The DataTraveler Micro Reader can store, transfer and read content on mobile memory cards.
"As mobile phones perform more sophisticated functions, carving a greater place in the lives of mobile consumers, Kingston is developing faster speed/larger capacity cards and versatile USB/card/device readers to help users get the most out of their devices," said Jean Wong, Flash memory product manager, Kingston(R). "We believe the DT Micro Reader will be well received by the mobile community as a smart single-solution to navigate the plethora of devices and card formats on the market today."
The drive is Windows ReadyBoost enabled and has up to 4GB of onboard flash storage. An expansion slot on the drive can read microSD, microSDHC, or M2 cards. The 1GB version sells for $19.25, 2GB is $28.95 and the 4GB is $42.00. The 1GB version will ship in February with the 2GB and 4GB versions shipping later.
