Sony Playstation Home Creative Director said in an interview with GamesIndustry that the upcoming Home virtual world will be the best-looking and most user-friendly online multiplayer experience. Hey, and I believe him.

The first demos of Playstation Home last year already looked amazing. Second Life graphics look rather poor compared to Playstation Home. Sony should not make the mistake though that graphics and user friendliness are the key to the success of Home alone.

The economic possibilities inside Second Life are essential to its success. People can make money in this virtual world, that is big motivation to spend a lot of time in it.
Second Life is growing much slower this year compared to what happened in 2007. In January 2007 about 3 million users were registered in December that number increased more than 3 fold to 11.7 million. At the end of January the total user base was up to 12.2million.

Ideally Sony will garner a big chunk of the Second Life user base into Playstation Home once it launches later this year. If they have not done that yet, they should hand out beta accounts to the most active Second Life users to get their input on how to shape Playstation Home to make it a success.

The launch of Playstation Home is in 2008, but Sony is not getting more specific on when this year the online world is opening its doors.
