EA announced a new survival horror game called Dead Space that will launch this Halloween. The game is set in a science fiction setting and will hit the Xbox 360 and PS3 on October 31st. EA says the game is set in the far future as humans travel deep into space looking for natural resources.
The game puts players in the shoes of engineer Isaac Clarke who travels to a space ship to fix the communications and finds that the crew unearthed an alien presence that he has to seal back inside the planet.
"Survival horror is about experiencing a terrifying, and deeply personal fiction," said Executive Producer Glen Schofield. "Dead Space is being developed as a single-player thriller that delivers the chilling, claustrophobic feeling of being isolated in a dark environment, while being stalked by some truly horrific enemies. Halloween is the perfect time for EA to deliver the fear and anxiety that will keep survival horror fans up playing all night." The ESRB rating for the game is pending, but one look at the screen shots can tell you this is an M rated game all the way.
