IGN reports that Majesco has a new device to be debuted at E3 that will allow Game Boy Advance users to text message each other from three miles away. Text is entered via a virtual keyboard, and real-time chat is also possible. If a user isn't online, the messages are queued and delivered when the user comes back online. Majesco's device (not the GBA wirless shown above) will also have a built-in rechargeable battery and AC adapter, and will work for one week on a single charge. There are no fees for the text messaging "service" - you only have to buy the hardware.
Turn your handheld gaming system into a handheld, wireless text messenger? May you live in interesting times!
