Virgin Media adds 24,400 new Subscribers in Quarter

LONDON (Reuters) - British cable operator Virgin Media added 24,400 customers in
its fourth quarter, posted underlying operating income ahead of targets and said
it was well placed for continued growth and cash flow generation.
The group said it had 61,100 net new additions to its television service,
111,200 net new additions to its broadband offering and added 52,300 customers
to the telephony service. Churn, or the percentage of people dropping their
subscription, was 1.4 percent a month.
Operating income before depreciation, amortization and other charges was 321
million pounds ($636.4 million), ahead of analyst forecasts at 307 million
pounds. Revenue was slightly ahead of forecasts at 1,051 million pounds,
compared to forecasts of 1,048 million pounds.
