EA and FIFA are looking for the best virtual soccer player in America with an Interactive World Cup game. The live qualifying event will be held on March 1st in LA. EA says that up to 50 competitors can pre-register for the event and the remaining 78 spots will be filled first come first serve.
The tournament will be held at a GameStop in Universal City, CA. "The FIFA Interactive World Cup is where true world champions are crowned," said Brazilian football icon Ronaldinho. "I am sure the competitors will feel the same excitement as we players do when entering the field at a FIFA World Cup. So don't miss the action leading up to the Grand Final in Berlin, on the 24th of May."
The 32 finalists for the competition will be made up of winners from the 20 live qualifiers taking place around the world. 12 additional players will be qualified via the PlayStation Network. The winner of the competition will get an invite to the FIFA World Player Gala 2008 and $20,000.
