Syntax-Brillian and LG.Philips announced today that the two companies have signed a LCD panel supply agreement. Under the terms of this agreement LG.Philips agrees to supply Syntax-Brillian with a minimum of 750,000 LCD panels during 2008.
The panels will be sized for 32-inch, 37-inch, 42-inch, 42-inch full HD, and 47-inch Full HD. Syntax-Brillian also has an option to secure more panels as the market demands. This sort of agreement is becoming common with the huge growth of LCD TVs pushed in part by the digital conversion coming in 2009.
"We are pleased to announce this agreement with LG.Philips," stated James Li, Syntax-Brillian's CEO. "This agreement is significant for Syntax-Brillian because it provides us with the new full-HD 1080p resolution panels that we demonstrated at CES in January in both 42"-type and 47"-type sizes. We believe this strategic agreement demonstrates the achievements of our brand recognition in securing the needed panels to supply our channel partners with state-of-the-art technology."
