Fuld & Company, a market research firm, released a report today that says the rollout of services on the 700MHz frequency currently under bidding with the FCC will be slow. According to the study even with the huge amounts of money being spent to get the frequency spectrum, the near term technology advances will be small.

The firm predicted several things including that the industry will be hard pressed to roll out an infrastructure to take advantage of the new frequency in the next 2 to 3 years. The firm also made some other predictions relating to 700MHz services.

It says Intel will likely enter the landscape by helping PC makers get into the handset business. Google will partner with AT&T or other phone carrier not represented in the bidding like Verizon. This would allow non-AT&T handsets to operate on its networks. The study says adult content will become the killer app for launching the wireless Internet. Finally, predictions say that Google’s Android will run into resistance due to the differences in the way mobile phone makers and Google see the wireless future.
