Jon Peddie Research (JPR) has released its report covering the Q4 figures for the discrete graphics card makers. According to JPR Q4 2007 was the strongest quarter of the year for graphics card makers with a 50.3% gain year to year and a 23% gain over the previous quarter.
JPR says that NVIDIA continued to be the largest vendor in discrete graphics cards with 71% of the discrete graphics card market in Q4 2007. This number was up from 64% the previous quarter. NVIDIA’s gains in Q4 were no doubt linked to the fantastic performance and price of its 8800 GT cards.
JPR gives an overall market value for discrete graphics cards of $6,577.87 million in Q4 that number was down from $6,617.23 in Q3 2007. JPR says that shows spending was down for the industry as a whole.
