Iogear announced a new product today that will allow mobile users to access a PC anywhere from any location across the globe with an Internet connection. To access the computer remotely the PCPortal requires a web connection, web browser, IP address and a router on the desired computer.
The system allows allows IT administrators to remotely troubleshoot computers not working correctly. If you need access to more than one computer, connecting the PCPortal to a KVM will allow access to multiple computers.
"In the event a computer is not functioning properly, users need to be able to access the machine to alleviate the situation, even when on-site assistance is not possible," said Miranda Su, executive vice president of IOGEAR. "PCPortal's ability to communicate with distant computers over an Internet connection makes it feasible for individuals to work on their PCs from anywhere, at anytime." The PCPortal is available now for $499.99.
