LAS VEGAS (Hollywood Reporter) - Five years after "Hulk" underwhelmed
moviegoers, the jolly green giant is bounding back into movie theaters this
summer.
"The Incredible Hulk," due out June 13, stars Edward Norton. Directed by Louis
Leterrier ("The Transporter"), it offers a more heroic take on the title
character and a more wholly computer-generated rendering of the Hulk.
Distributor Universal Pictures, which partnered on the film with producer Marvel
Entertainment, unveiled the trailer Thursday at the movie theater industry's
annual ShoWest conference.
"Looks better than the last one," was a typical comment from attendees.
Of course, the reaction among the film's potential fanboy base will be most
telling once the trailer hits theaters this weekend and Internet movie sites.
The trailer will precede screenings of the action thriller "Doomsday."
Universal and Marvel are hoping to deep-six memories of the first film. Simply
titled "Hulk," with Ang Lee directing Eric Bana, the $150 million film grossed
$132 million domestically.
