Boston Dynamics is developing a DARPA funded robot dubbed BigDog for the military.
The Pack Mule robot has four legs and the video below shows how BigDog puts those legs to use.
The coolest scene is where a guy kicks the Big Dog and the quadruped robot gains its balance again, better than most animals would be able to do.
BigDog is powered by a gasoline engine that drives a hydraulic actuation system.
BigDog is the size of a large dog or small mule, measuring 1 meter long, 0.7 meters tall and 75 kg weight.
