Pentax announced its latest point-and-shoot camera called the Optio V20 yesterday. The camera uses a compact design and features a 5x zoom lens. The image sensor is 8MP and the camera takes advantage of a large 3-inch LCD screen.
Portrait optimization features are built in as well. Face recognition detects and focuses on faces automatically and sets correct exposure. Smile Capture detects when the subject smiles and releases the shutter automatically.
The final feature is Blink Detection that reports when images taken had a subject with eyes closed. Other built-in features include auto-tracking AF, 52MB of internal memory, and auto-macro mode. The V20 will be available in May for $279.95.
