AMD announced this week that it has received the first ever DisplayPort Certification for PC graphics cards. The AMD HD 3400, HD 3600, HD 3800, FireMV 2260, and 780G integrated graphics adapter have all received VESA DisplayPort certification.
"Dell is pleased to see AMD achieve the first DisplayPort Certification for PC graphics with the ATI Radeon HD 3000 products, ATI FireMV 2260 and AMD 780G," said Bruce Montag, Office of the CTO, Dell. "The VESA DisplayPort Certified Logo assures customers that DisplayPort products interoperate and provide a great digital display experience."
While the AMD series cards are certified for DisplayPort, that doesn’t mean that all the AMD offerings will have DisplayPort integrated. AMD says that it is up to the card partner to integrate DisplayPort into their cards.
