Subaru R1e Plug-in Electric Car

Subaru (Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd) introduces a tiny plug-in electric car in the United States.
At the 2008 New York Auto Show Subaru announced that the New York Power Authority would test the Subaru R1e.
Tests of the R1e are already going on in Japan and also in the UK.
Popular Mechanics took the R1e for a test drive in New York last week. The small electric car can reach a top speed of 60mph and has a quick charge option that allows to get 80% charge in 15min. The R1e uses an AC permanent magnet synchronized
motor producing 40 kW.
The range of the Subaru R1e is only 50 miles, which is ok for city use.
