Apple announced an update to its popular Aperture image program today. The update takes Aperture to 2.1 and adds new features. Aperture 2.1 is available today as a free update, which is good news after Apple charged iPod touch owners for its last software update.
Apple says it is working closely with developers to bring requested plug-ins to aperture. Specifically Apple says it is working with Mik Software’s Viveza plug-in, PictureCode’s Noise Ninja plug-in, Digital Film Tools’ Power Stroke plug-in and many other plug-ins.
"The image quality in Aperture 2 has won over the most demanding photographers," said Rob Schoeben, Apple's vice president of Applications Product Marketing. "Now, thanks to our open plug-in architecture, users can access an entire industry's worth of imaging expertise without ever leaving Aperture."
