Denon announced today that its surround sound receivers were ranked number one in the US market. Denon’s AV receiver’s ranked number one in sales dollars for the month of February in the US representing a 23% share of the surround receiver market.

This data comes from the NPD Group’s Retail Tracking Service. Denon says this is the first time that it has earned a leading position in the US market regardless of sales channels. Denon makes a variety of receivers from entry level units to multi-thousand dollar high-end receivers.

"Market-share rankings reflect the voice of the customer," said President and Chief Operating Officer of D&M Holdings Victor J. Pacor. "Denon receivers are in high demand as customers increasingly pursue great sound and visual quality. This data point is particularly noteworthy since our Denon receivers command an average selling price that is much higher than that of the industry. This underscores 'flight to quality' as a consumer trend that continues to gain momentum."
