Verizon announced today that in May it would be getting its own BlackBerry Curve smartphone. The phone will feature a liquid silver color and have chrome highlights. The curve for Verizon will be compatible with Verizon’s EV-DO data service and VZ Navigator.
The Curve has been around for a while now and is RIMs smallest full QWERTY smartphone. The device is 4.2” x 2.4” x 0.6” and only weighs 4 ounces. The screen has a resolution of 320 x 240 and automatically adjusts the brightness for viewing indoors and out.
The Verizon BlackBerry Curve will be available in all Verizon Wireless stores for $269.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate. Verizon’s email and web plan for BlackBerry devices starts at $29.99 per month in addition to the monthly voice plan.
