Sprint Announces Smallest USB Broadband Modem in the Country

Sprint announced today that it and Sierra Wireless were introducing the countries smallest USB broadband modem called the Compass 597 USB modem. The tiny modem is 70% smaller than the AirCard 595U.
Measurements for the device are 1.2” x 2.4” x 0.4” and it weighs only 0.7 ounces. The modem is compatible with both Windows and Mac OS’ and uses the Qualcomm MSM6800A-3 chipset.
The modem is GPS enabled, has an integrated microSD slot and operates on CDMA 1900 and 800 MHz networks with EV-DO Rev. 0 and Rev.A. Download speeds with the device are up to 3.1 Mbps and upload speeds are up to 1.4 Mbps.
