Linksys just announced the sales of over 100,000 Linksys Wireless-G
products in North America since products began shipping on December 24, 2002.
You have seen it here before on I4U.com. 54g or Wireless-G is hot!
Designed to the IEEE 802.11g draft specification, the hundred thousand Wireless-G products sold consisted of a Linksys Wireless-G Router, Access Point, PC Card and PCI Adapter. The current most popular solutions are the router and the PC card. Linksys expects to ship more than 500,000 Wireless-G products during the first quarter (Q1) of this year.
Press-Release on Yahoo
Linksys WRT54G Wireless 54g Router is already on 3rd sales rank at Amzon.com in the Electronics Category.
802.11g or also called 54g is 5 times faster (54Mbit/s) than the current standard 802.11b. It sure makes sense to upgrade for people who have several devices on their wireless network at the same time.
For instance I stream radio over a notebook, have a ReplayTV and a Notebook on the same network.
