Prismiq along with other electronics vendors start to offer all-in-one living-room gadgets to compete with products like ReplayTV RTV50xx or TiVo Series2 .

The Prismiq media player offers DVD-quality (MPEG2 and MPEG1) video, Streaming of MP3 files, Browse the web and instant messaging.
It does not yet have a PVR functionality, Prismiq says that this can be added as an update in the future.
The prismiq mediaplayer sells for 249.95USD on their prismiq web site.

Tivo and ReplayTV announced software upgrades that will enhance the capabilities of their boxes.

The Prismiq Media Player is available on Amazon.com for $249.99.
