Mad Catz announced today that it will be producing video game controllers with the Arsenal Football Club logo on it. Arsenal is a soccer team that plays in the English Premier League. The agreement between Mad Catz and the Arsenal team allows them to distribute the controllers in Europe.
"Arsenal is one of the world's premier sporting franchises with a global fan base and the addition of this brand to our robust license portfolio should help strengthen the penetration of Mad Catz' products in key European markets," said Darren Richardson, President and Chief Executive Officer of Mad Catz. "We look forward to providing European retailers and customers with a range of Arsenal-branded videogame accessories."
Mad Catz will make Arsenal-branded controllers, faceplates, console skinz and carry cases for the PS2, PS3, Xbox 360, PSP, Nintendo DS Lite and Nintendo Wii. It seems that soccer fans in the U.S. won’t be able to buy the controllers.
