AMD's CTO Phil Hester has resigned. It is always kind of a big deal if a senior officer leaves a company. AMD also announced this week to cut 10% of their employees.
Apparently the resignation of Mr. Hester is not related to the job cut. Mr. Hester is leaving to pursue other opportunities says an AMD spokesperson.
Mr. Hester joined AMD in 2005.
AMD is actually not planning to find a replacement has they have now established a structure where each business unit has their own CTO.
We will see how that goes.
