Iogear announced a new DVI Video/Audio extender kit that amplifies signals with a single cable. The kit can send DVI video and audio up to 100 feet away. The kit includes a pair of DVI units, one of which is a local transmitter and the other is the remote receiver.
The DVI units have a 3.5mm jack for analog audio and the kit can connect to stereo speakers. Connection between the two DVI units is via standard Cat5e/6 cable making it much cheaper than 100 foot DVI cords.
"Presenters need convenient, cost-effective solutions to distribute their audio and video material over a great distance, especially when it's challenging to set-up their equipment on-site," said Miranda Su, executive vice president at IOGEAR. "Our DVI Video / Audio Extender Kit gives teachers and professionals the flexibility to hold presentations in multiple places, as well as reduce cable clutter with video and audio signals streamlined over a single cord."
