Viewsonic Announces New Low Cost LCDs

Viewsonic announced three new LCDs today. The VA1903wmb is a 19-inch widescreen display and the other two new monitors are 4:3 units. The 17-ich VA703mp and the 19-inch VA903mb and the wide screen 19-inch unit are all targeted at offices and classrooms.
All three displays promise fast response times, rich colors and bright images for under $250 each. "The need for multimedia desktop displays in the classroom is increasing as curriculum evolves and students are utilizing video and Web sites for daily learning," said Jeff Volpe, vice president of Global Brand and Emerging Technologies, ViewSonic. "By introducing inexpensive LCDs with features typically associated with more expensive, high-end displays, ViewSonic is making it possible for users to enjoy the latest in display technology without breaking the bank."
The VA1903wmb has a contrast ratio of 800:1 and a 1440x900 native resolution retailing for $235. The VA903mb has a 1000:1 contrast ratio and a 1280 x1024 resolution and retails for $245. The lowest cost display is the VA703mb retailing for $209 and featuring a 1280x1024 resolution and a 700:1 contrast ratio.
