Kingston announced its first high-performance notebook SO-DIMM RAM for the global market. The notebook RAM is has low-latency and runs at 667MHz with capacities of 2GB and 4GB available. The low latency RAM operates at CL4-4-4-12 at 1.8V.
"Kingston customers asked about higher-performance memory for current notebooks and our new 667MHz CL4 low-latency SO-DIMMs are the first in a series of new HyperX memory offerings to support this market," said Mark Tekunoff, senior technology manager, Kingston(R). "We will continue to expand the product line, including developing a 3GB memory kit."
This RAM may be just what users of gaming notebooks have been looking for. A 2GB kit costs $84 and a 4GB kit costs $132. This RAM will allow higher performance on a notebook without having to enter the bios and overclock the hardware, potentially breaking the manufacturer’s warranty.
