If in-car audio is your thing, Pioneer has announced a new amp that will rock your world—literally. The PRS-A900 is a 4-channel reference amp built with the design philosophy that performance is the goal with cost as no object. With a MSRP at $1500, Pioneer seems to have adhered to that philosophy.
"Our engineers painstakingly over-engineered each section of the PRS-A900 to produce one of the most accurate and musical automotive amplifier ever created, while at the same time achieving excellent dynamics, power output or reliability. Virtually every aspect of the PRS-A900, from the components on the circuit board to the bottom of the chassis, were designed for reproducing incredible sound quality," said Larry Rougas, vice president of marketing and product planning for the mobile business group of Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc. "What resulted is an amplifier that can satisfy even the critical listener."
The amp features an independent, symmetrically isolated circuit board to prevent noise from entering the signal path. All of the maps internal components were tested for performance and quality. The amp is a class A/B with a maximum power output of 200W and a signal to noise ratio of 108dB.
