Addonics announced a new external hard drive system today called the Snap-In ExDrive. The enclosure allows users to hot swap hard drives between systems by simply popping the drive out of the enclosure. The system uses 2.5-inch hard drives with the SATA interface.
The Snap-In ExDrive25 is made from aluminum for heat dissipation and features a shock absorption system to protect the hard drives. Connectivity options for the system are dual eSATA and USB 2.0 connectors for easy desktop-to-notebook connections. The system is bootable with eSATA connections as well.
A Snap-In double Drive is also available that has space for dual 2.5-inch drives and can fit inside a 3.5-inch drive bay. The Snap-In ExDrive retails for $29 and the Double Drive retails for $39.
