A month ago we already reported about a rumor that Taiwan's Hon Hai would build the 3G iPhone. Hon Hai is the parent company of Foxconn. Today Digitimes reports that the Chinese-language Commercial Times repeats this rumor and states a little bit more details.
Apparently shipments of the 3G iPhone are expected to top 3 million units in June and overall 24-25 million 3G iPhones are planned.
Foxconn is making the current iPhone, so why should they not make the next one too, especially since the new iPhone will be very similar.
According to one of the latest 3G iPhone rumors the 3G iPhone will have a GPS chip.
