The North American Eagle project has only one goal. To break the land speed record and reach 800mph (1,287km/h).
Now the group around Ed Shadle seeks a new replacement driver. Actually the first step to enter is to write an essay. Additionally the driver should be appealing to sponsors, as North American Eagle is always in need of funds.
The North American Eagle vehicle is actually a jet fighter plane. The speed rocket is actually ready to go. The old land speed record was set 11 years ago. It is time for it to be broken again, maybe by you.
Ed Shadle gave a radio interview on NPR with details about the search for a new pilot. See also the North American Eagle site.
