Well respected Austrian Newspaper Der Standard reports that T-Mobile held a press-conference confirming the 3G iPhone is supposed to be available soon.
The Austrian mobile phone market is apparently one of the first markets Apple will make the 3G iPhone available in. Austria has long been a little 3G wonderland. 3G plans are very affordable and 3G phones are heavily subsidized. Additionally there are many carriers competing for the couple million consumers in the Alp nation.
The normal iPhone became officially available pretty late in Austria. That could all change with the 3G iPhone.
What is also interesting is that there are supposed to be more flexible offers around the 3G iPhone. The exact date of the 3G iPhone launch was not published.
